*EDIT AGAIN*
Kay so, guess its time to spill the beans and say; April Fools everyone!
To those that I was able to catch the attention of anyways, as I don't think many were convinced, especially outside of DA, of this little attempt of mine. Just thought I'd raise the hopes of some fans out there at least a bit. Will explain the idea behind this logo in an art post with its full resolution, so be sure to check it out!

Intelligent Systems, I apologize, but you're not looking so intelligent as of late. XP
After seeing it in the Nintendo direct earlier this month, my hopes were dropped just as quickly as they were raised. Some people may be looking forward to the game, praising its visuals as the HD Paper Mario game fans have imagined it would look like, and intrigued by the new paint hammer mechanic. But for what fans have wanted it to play as is really the opposite for the recently revealed Colour Splash title.
In a way, the Paper Mario series seems to now be suffering the same fate of not listening to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" moral, as other game series like Banjo-Kazooie have fallen to nowadays. Specifically, leaving a series to go stagnate for so long, then finally release a new title but have the major gameplay mechanics from the previous games in said series turned on its head, making the core aspects different than what fans have wanted and have been waiting so long to play (Nuts & Bolts). At first I thought Super Paper Mario on the Wii was guilty of this due to the transition from the Gamecube with The Thousand-year Door, but Sticker Star immediately took its place as the game that got the most cult backlash regarding this I think. Especially in regards to its development history.
Now don't get me wrong, I aim to stay positive that this game might play as well as it looks so far, but others have expressed their concerns better than I would have already, so to make sure I don't go on a rambling rant of my own about this matter, here is just a handful of the best examples I've seen involving fan's reactions and feelings towards this direction for the Paper Mario franchise:
- Gamexplain is a little forgiving thanks to their usual trailer analysis', but one thing Josh, Ash, and especially Andre can agree on; they're keeping caution flags on hand -
- Gamnesia's Nintendo Week Podcast had a segment about the game's reveal, and all I can say is that Colin's little speech that starts at around the 2:23 mark pretty much speaks for many -
- These two are basically the typical kinds of "quality" rants some Youtubers have made, but are tame enough to prevent them from sounding overly annoying -
- This one DOES have quite bit of cussing in it, so viewer & listener discretion is advised, but the guy does bring up a few important points close to the end that a lot of other rants about the game don't cover (plus it IS pretty funny at certain points) -
- Out of all the videos to express their feelings towards the new game however, this one is probably the most viewed and recommended because of its more calm & mature nature, despite the user's avatar looking like Cookie Monster's more socially educated distant relative. But don't judge a video by its thumbnail, its definitely worth a listen -
Overall, I do wish to hear what opinions you guys have about this. As a fan of the first two Paper Mario games it's a bit disheartening to see such a franchise kept under the experimental wing of unnecessary innovation, and not letting it continue to be the game it was once famous for. Hopefully, much like the outcry on Metroid Prime Federation Force, fans will have their angry voices heard about this new instalment to the series, though personally I'm not holding my breath for any drastically quick development changes. Perhaps the soon to be announced NX will have something for us in the future?

Figuring Things Out and Youtube Video Re-uploads
Looks like Eclipse took over, huh? Guess that'll be another thing I'll have to get used to now. Hey everyone, long time no message! Had to take a long break from social media of any sort for a while due to having a rough start to this now-difficult year, as well as trying to get stuff done behind the scenes. Which at the moment, has STILL been plaguing my efforts to create content on an actual regular pace. Honestly, the discouragement expressed in my latest sketch from a few months ago seems to represent a lasting weight that I haven't completely shake off yet. XP Nevertheless, new pieces are on the way, as I did some more staff content for Dr Crafty that will be shown soon. Along with some belated gifts for friends and personal works that I really want to finish & upload. In the meantime however, as a means of trying to expand in different areas, my most-recent personal projects involved more video editing work, as I decided to revise & repost the two videos I have over on my
Birthday Wishes and... Youtube?!
Many thanks for all the Birthday wishes folks! I certainly appreciate it this year, after the events that happened to me and my family mid August. Had the most amount of people gathered for the occasion for the first time in years, and I'm super grateful that my otherwise small family isn't as small as I thought it was.
But as the title for this journal may suggest, I have some important news to share:
Thats right viewers, my Palutena's Guidance What-if for Banjo & Kazooie if finally finished, and can now be watched on my newly-made Youtube page! Be sure to like, give feedback on how I can improve, and spread it around to sh
Not Dead! But Not Back Yet (update)
EDIT: 07/10/2019
Holy Moly talk about a busy bundle of months. Haven't been able to post anything worthwhile in a pretty long time, but hopefully that'll change once August rolls around. For the time being, if the title change hasn't made it obvious, I come bearing info that should explain where I've been, and what I have in store for this year:
Firstly, commissions will unfortunately be closed for a while longer, as I still need to update my commission chart with new prices. Believe me when I say that I do want to start making them again now with the newfound knowledge I've gained this year so far, as I can tell that a few of you want
Birthday Wishes? Ya' Shouldn't Have!
Apologies for the late response folks, but man - to all those who took the time to not only wish me the happiest of Birthdays, but also to the handful that made gift art for me this year, Many thanks to you all! The fact that people still come to see my drawings, concepts, and characters, despite me being admittedly sporadic with uploads and updates, gives me the drive I always need to continue making content. ^_^
Although speaking of content, something I've got going on behind the scenes that I can present to show my gratitude is this -
Over on my Twitter page, these images took off like crazy, especially for a following of my size

Paper Mario is many things. It has a comparatively dark story wrapped in colourful, rather happy-looking world that one can explore. It is an RPG in a rather classic sense that has been, and should be, playing with paper-related mechanics gimmicks and whatnot. It has a lot of character to it as well that the mute plumber can interact with and befriend.
Personally, I don't mind deviating from some of those mechanics, since Super Paper Mario did that with the turn-based combat and mostly 2D environment, but it kept the paper gimmick still where one could say that the world is literally drawn out on paper, and that literally don't have much depth to it, and yet it kept a very solid story, and it was surprisingly dark for being a Mario game, from what I gathered.
While most people probably would want another Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, I personally don't think that is the right way to go. Yes, we should look at the game and see what has been done right, but we don't need a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door 2, but rather a new story. A new story where Bowser isn't the main antagonist, but rather tries to beat Mario to the end because of his own ego, with all the hilarity it ensued. There would also need to be a world of people that seemingly have every day lives, say an inn and a store in each town you visit, each with their own stock of items one can buy, as well as a cook in the Town Where MacGuffins Are Stored Because Of Plot. One thing that I do find great about PM:TTYD is the expedition you do with Flavio and the other guys to Keelhaul Key. I like it because you got to interact with a fair bunch of NPCs at once and I felt like they were a part of my party for a moment, even though they were not. It was fun nonetheless.
These have been my two cents about this.
